New Cannabis-Infused Beverage Hitting Dispensary Shelves

June 28, 2022 by Krystina Morgan

Cannabis beverages are one of the most exciting categories of the ever-growing cannabis industry. From seltzers to waters and everything in between, manufacturers are becoming more savvy with the different cannabis-infused products they create. Now, The Boston Beer Company, Inc. is taking part in the $28 billion market.

Deliciously Blending the Tea & the Pot

Maker of iconic, high-quality brands such as Samuel Adams, Truly Hard Seltzer, and Twisted Tea, The Boston Beer Company, Inc. is launching TeaPot, a new line of cannabis-infused iced teas. TeaPot is the company’s first infused beverage offering, blending tea with specific cannabis strains to enhance different times of the day, and will be available in select Canadian provinces beginning in July.

The Boston Beer Company’s first release, Good Day Iced Tea, is made with real lemon black tea and infused with Pedro’s Sweet Sativa, grown in Ontario by licensed producer Entourage Health Corp. Each 12-ounce can contains 5 milligrams of THC and is crafted to minimize any cannabis taste or aroma. According to their website, TeaPot will introduce additional varieties in the coming months.

An Industry Growing Like Weeds

The cannabis-infused beverage market is only expected to continue to grow. While The Boston Beer Company awaits further progress on U.S. regulations before bringing their beverage to state dispensaries, Canada’s infused beverage market share has increased by nearly 850 percent since 2020, according to Headset retail data. The global cannabis beverages market is projected to grow from $915 million in 2021 to $19,063 million in 2028, at a CAGR of 54 percent in the forecast period. If all goes well, TeaPot can be reaping the benefits of more markets beyond Canada’s.

Even if your dispensary is not located in Canada and cannot get your hands on this new tasty cannabis drink, always be on the lookout for new and innovative products to offer your customers. To keep them coming back, retailers need to be constantly changing their offerings and give them something new to get excited about.
