This book sells itself short, because it is SO much more than just another cookbook!
The timing of the release of this publication coincides with the legalization of marijuana in the great United State of Oregon. That said, at the time of this writing, there are only two other states that have legalized possession of marijuana and to my knowledge, neither Colorado nor Washington risked writing into their laws the legality of actually growing your own plants. This makes Oregon unique due to the fact that if you grow your four plants, you will have plenty of leaves to use for applying to cooking recipes. You don’t have to commit all that high dollar bud to your oils and tinctures. Enter the “Cannabis Kitchen Cookbook.”But you must know — This is not just a cookbook; it is a first class primer for the beginner who will find SO much information in the first chapter of the book, simply titled, “The Plant.” Robyn Griggs explains everything you’d want to know about this fascinating plant, how it grows, what all its parts contain. She explains the differences between Indica, Sativa and Ruderalis (Ruderalis?! – Nevuh hoid ‘o da bum.) She covers hemp, cannabinoids, THC, CBD (another new one for me), and terpenes (is this where terpinetine comes from? Just kidding!). Her book discusses how cannabis grows, how to store it and how to process it. She covers where to buy it, how to buy it and gives some great tips on what to look for when you purchase marijuana so that you can become educated on some things to look out for. Next, she pops out a nice little section on — if I may — “pot pedigrees,” detailing a tight list of “Favorite Cooking Cultivars.” Wow. Put simply, you can now shop for specific characteristics chosen for YOUR specific ailments or experience wishes. I had no idea.Ms. Lawrence has also taken it upon herself to go out and find some top notch chefs who offer some of their own recipes. This is not just a one woman band. Oh, no — It is an orchestra of culinary applications. There is so much more in this book besides just great recipes and there’s not enough time for me to describe what you will find in this very well researched base of knowledge. Just buy the book and unless you’re already an expert on all things marijuana, prepare to get your mind blown with delightful, simple-to-understand explanations of what is truly behind this magnificent plant.I’m sure there are dozens upon dozens of books about marijuana out there, but in “The Cannabis Kitchen Cookbook,” you have a great opportunity to educate yourself if you want, as well as some great recipes to try out, and it’s all between the covers of this wonderful book.

A Cannabis Cookbook That You Will Actually Use!
I always liked the idea of cooking with cannabis and own several cookbooks on the subject. But to be honest, I often found cannabis recipes time-consuming (making the butter/oil can take hours), impractical (I donât really need 24 brownies) and the cookbooks themselves disappointing (ordinary dishes with a few spoons of an infused butter/oil recipe that you can get off the internet). The Cannabis Kitchen Cookbook is the first cookbook that has encouraged me to really give cannabis cooking a go, with spectacular results! Each recipe is presented with options to control the amount of cannabis and its effects, which makes me feel a lot more comfortable trying them out. Besides recipes that feature healthy ingredients and feel a lot more gourmet, the book also has a lot of practical information about the plant, and how to properly buy and consume cannabis. There seems to be a lot of cannabis cookbooks out now, but if you are looking for one that you will actually use, get The Cannabis Kitchen Cookbook.

A Must Buy!
Wow….totally unexpected in the best way possible/ I had expected recipes, but was not expecting the awesome overview on a rapidly new legal industry. The author has managed to take the guess work out of all of the new products and general information needed to navigate ones way through this process. I love that she talks very clearly on infusions, tinctures, oils, buyers guides, butters, etc. Probably most importantly, a clear explanation on how to buy, and what to look for. .This book offers a very special service to new medical cannabis users, that to my knowledge, has not been available before. It is a great primer for all individuals that are new to this changed world. A special bonus is not only the great information, but also wonderful sounding recipes with great photos.

Thumbs UP!
Since I’m a novice, this book helps me learn…..more about using hemp leaves and flowers for nutritional value, not a head high.As soon as I grow enough and use the natural goodness of these plants, the less , I hope, medical problems will crop up.Would you rather have dangerous drugs in your body or Natural remedies, or preventatives.
