2nd year, with these seeds. So many compliments
Last year we decided to make an area of our yard into a wildflower garden. About a month later I had friends over asking me about all the beautiful plants I had in my garden. I have always used starters from the garden centers for my gardens but I decided to give this a try. It was so easy. Spread the seed out and water daily for a few weeks and gradually back off the watering. I have so many beautiful perennials. Coneflower, flax, delphiniums, daisies. I decided to put more seed down this year to expand this area. It’s so much fun watching what is coming up. The color in this mix is unbelievable.

    So far, so good.
I spread a lot of these wildflower seeds on the mound covering the new septic system on my property. After keeping the area moist for close to two months now, I can see that at least three varieties of wildflower are blooming. They looked like weeds for a while, but now there are hundreds, possibly thousands, of little white, yellow, and lavender flowers, respectively.

Waste of money and time!!! Barely any flowers mostly Bull Grass!!!
If I could give a Negative 10 Review, I would.I purchased four of these and spent over $70 for Bull Grass! This is a flowerless filler this company put in this seed mix. Bull Grass grass grows on roadsides and waste grounds. No where in the description does it state that I would be paying an obscene amount of money on a Grass that naturally grows on waste grounds.I am livid. DO NOT BUT FROM THIS COMPANY. You will be disappointed!

    These grew for me!
I’m surprised by all the bad reviews and guessing they’re from inexperienced wildflower growers. YES they will look like weeds. Wildflowers essentially are weeds. They are a commitment that take years to reach their full potential. I planted this packet 1 week after a packet from a local feed store. These are twice as thick and tall. I’m about 1.5 months in and am seeing 2 types of flowers already – plus we’ve been through a 105 degree heat wave, an early summer freeze, back to hot and now a drought.I recommend people who want to actually grow wildflowers, research them a bit.1. The same flowers will not come up every year, some are every other or every 3rd, etc. Some do come every year. Wildflowers are like a box of chocolates (insert Forrest Gump voice here).2. They need continued water, not just when you plant. I water EVERY day unless there is natural rain. After a couple months, they COULD survive, but they will strive that first year with additional water.3. Be patient, a lot of the first wild flowers are tiny and die off quickly, that’s ok, they’re still germinating.4. In the early years, they’re not overly filled. I have a 5 year old field that just now is producing all the colors in the season.5. A lot of your packets that have a lot blooming in the first year contain ANNUALS which will die off and you’ll be left with very little next season. This packet is 100% perennial which means it is a longer investment to get that beautiful field look, but overall cheaper and less effort for years to come.If you’re looking for that right away bouquet look – go buy $1 packets every year and replant every year. If you want to fill a large area with an authentic natural look, these get my vote!***Updated*** added a photo showing I’m now on the second season and many variety flowers came back in. The white are natural weed flowers, but I’m seeing all sorts of other colors (purple, yellow, red, pink!). I will be purchasing again to redo the area I planted with a big box store mix that never came up.

    Took 3 years
I was initially a bit disappointed in this seed packet because the growth seemed rather sparse and not a big variety, but this year has proven me wrong! This is the third spring for these flowers and they look amazing. There’s varieties that have never flowered before and I can see that we’ll have a nice cycle of flowering flowers as some bloom and others die away. So if you’re bummed that your wild flower patch didn’t produce much, give it a few years! (The picture of the flowers in the vase are wildflowers from this seed packet and some purple irises, not from this packet)
