Not Perfect, but at this Price….
I was looking forward to getting them because of the hype. I did try them in my V20, with and without an amp. The amp does help.I admit they may need breaking in but here are the initial findings. My main phones, at the moment, are a $20 pair of Koss KPH301 with Yaxi pads and a better internal damping pad. I also use a Mayflower Cmoy with a 1X gain, LG V20, and audioquest aux cable. They are fairly well balanced top to bottom. Some would call it a V signature. I would say it is more of a U with a peak in the mid/lower bass, and a boost in the upper octave. mids are slightly suppressed. The imbalance is not that great, but the top is a bit on the harsh side. That is working itself out as it breaks in.The mids on up have a bit more resolution than the cheap Koss. However, the Koss has the better tonal balance and this makes a difference. That slight lack of mids robs pianos and guitars a bit of body and weight. However, this is getting better as they break in.They both have a slightly elevated level of bass. The Koss are better than stock due to the better pads and the amp. The C12 is very respectable in the nether regions, but the Koss edges them out. Sub bass is better presented and more detail is present in the bottom end. As the frequency goes down, the Koss maintain the speed and accuracy. The C12s get a little flabby. The Koss win on imaging, but neither are perfect. The soundstage for both are wide, but the Koss gets the depth. The C12s are more focused but that may be because of the slightly added treble. The Koss are 30 ohms and the amp helps a lot. The C12s are slightly lower but still benefit. The dynamics are better, the bass is more extended and faster, and the soundstage has more focus. YMMVIn the end, the C12 is a bargain for its price. Yeah, they are bested by a cheaper pair of phones but the Koss really do need that amp to compete. The stock tips are a bit hard but they do seal well for me. They are comfortable enough, as well.. I may try some memory foam. That may increase bass and tame the highs.I got the upgrade linsoul cable and it is nice. All tightened up a bit. The top end is not quite as hard. Bass is better. It would still be nice for them to be a touch less bright. I also will admit they fit me better than any other iem/earbuds I have tried. After more break in, the highs are less harsh and the sub bass is improving. They are sounding more balanced. The Koss are more neutral but these have a slight advantage in resolution in the upper regions. The Koss do better on the bottom. The Stock tips seal well and provide hearing protection level isolation. The C12s are quite musical, and provide good isolation. The multiple drivers could fit together better tonally but then again, the whole package is quite inexpensive.

    Excellent sounding, well made IEMs
These IEMs are great, but you’ve gotta acknowledge two things… They NEED a few hours to break in before they’ll sound as they’re designed to sound. Right out of the box they sound OK, but after like 4 or 5 hours of use (hopefully with some heavy bass tones) there is a noticeable improvement in the overall dynamics they will produce. Secondly… you’ve GOTTA get some replacement memory foam tips for these to truly sound as good as they can. The rubber (silicone?) tips which are included don’t do the sound quality any favors. In my ears they would very quickly start working their way out of my ear canals. The shape and the texture combine to cause them to never achieve the total seal that these (or ANY!) IEMs require. As far as I know there’s nothing any better than the foam tips, and they can be had for just a couple dollars per set… they don’t last forever, so it’s best to get at least a few sets so you’ll have some good ones around when needed.Besides those two “issues” these are great IEMs for their price point. I have used several different EQs to try to hear the limits of these, and I’ve found excellent response in nearly every frequency range. They’ll make highs to the point if being painful, the mids are clear and as loud as you could ever want, and the lows you can actually feel inside your head. I have one song that I use to test every sound output device I ever use. Many ear buds and IEMs don’t even attempt to reproduce the sub-bass notes the recording includes… and all the while the vocals and all the high frequencies need clean reproduction. These have almost the balanced response I get with my car stereo setup with 11 speakers! I highly recommend these CCA IEMs!

Hard to beat for the money.
Using these for electronic drums. I wanted an over the ear monitor. I also purchased some memory foam replacement tips and tried various sets until it felt comfortable and the noise/bass was sealed and ideal. After a quick listen, found these to be fairly flat sounding out of the box. I compared these to a set of Sennheiser workout buds that have adjustable arms to secure them. I thought those sounded pretty good. But a quick comparison, and these have a really nice sound stage overall. The bass isn’t phenomenal, in fact, if you get the bass turned up on an EQ a bit and not much volume, it will start to distort listening to typical metal. Which has pretty tight specific bass and not that boomy already when they are mixed. I would say I set my EQ pretty flat on the mids, a little higher and curved towards the high-end, and just a touch above middle with the bass. So, a real smooth V pattern with the bass being just above middle, mids about neutral and highs that increase then flatten to 12-16k across. The memory foam tips work really well to mold more to your ear drum. If you are like me, you might have different size canals. So the memory foam tips will form a good comfortable seal on both ears equally, which provide the nice sound stage, spatial clarity and overall good sound. Don’t expect $400 sounding monitors…but for something like electronic drums, they work well so far, and at this price, with 6 drivers in each ear (seems like over kill) you might be fine with the slightly less expensive CC10s. These, along with a few other, primarily. Only downside seems to be if you want to jump up a model, it is nearly $!00 more for the C16s. Which, are you getting $150 better? There are probably some other options/brands that will product better quality sound. I can’t compare these to the KZs since I don’t have them. But I believe other reviews how each has it’s own sound, and for the money, they are pretty good. Overall construction and look are pretty good as well. It also has a plastic sleeve from the earpiece connector about 3 inches to provide more comfort to your ear as it goes over the top/back of it, easy and clever idea. Cable is nothing special, will probably tangle like most, and it is only maybe 3ft in length, so get an extended 3mm cable, I have a cable connections 15ft one that is cloth weave, it is real nice and works great. Might would to find some type of clip as well if you hang these over your back to provide support of the connection so it doesn’t pull on your ears to hold the cable on your back/waist area. Probably only real complaint besides the bass that will distort.

Recomendable para disfrutar la música sin mucho análisis ni mucho detalle. Los bajos esta un poco más realzados que las otras frecuencias.

  7. Case was exactly as described. Well made. And turned up earlier than I expected. Easy

Great bottom end response. Very clear and defined. Overall very balanced. I was hearing things I’ve never heard before with a pro quality set of headphones. They will go louder without distortion than you will ever need

I find these can make my ears a little sore if wearing for a long time. In general comfort is good enough though. The quality of the sound blew me away! Very clear and clean sound, I’m using these with my Roland drum kit and they really help bring the sounds of the kit to life.
