Interesting beach fragrance; quality, hand-made candle, nice tin but small & $$$…
This is a very interesting candle. I chose the salt-air version and I have to say that it is quite different from any of my other candles. I’m familiar with some of the fragrances from this brand but this is my first time trying one of their candles. I thought the quality of the wax and wick was top-notch, which I expected from Demeter. The candle really does seem to have the scent of the ocean underlying tropical flowers before it is lit. When burning, it took a while for me to able to detect much fragrance. But after a while, the scent did fill the room. It seemed to me that the rather mineral scent making up the salty air component was stronger than the floral fragrance when the candle was burning, so kind of a reversal of my first impressions. I like the candle, and the covered tin is simple yet practical and I think this would make a great gift. I’m happy to support a company based in the USA, but even so, I do think it is a bit pricey for such a small tin containing only 5 ounces.

Amazon Damaged but …
It is always hit or miss with items that can be damaged. The paper bag the product was in was left in a puddle. The tiny box the tin was in was far too tight for this product and did not protect it in shipping. I had to struggle to get the candle out of the box. Once I got it out of the box the tin had two large dents. I order candles in tins often for safe burning and have ordered two candles from Amazon and both were received dented. Demeter products are phenomenal and the scent is always perfect. This is my 4th product from this company and I continue to find more reasons to love them.

Kind of Gin & Tonicâ¦..but More Barbershop
This candle smells a bit more like a barbershop than a gin & tonic. It is a nice clean, herbal scent. It burns well & makes a room smell clean & fresh but it is not that unusual. It reminds me of many good, generic candles.

The Best Fragrance Ever!
First – this candle is small and pricey. For $18, I expected it to be a little larger. But I had no idea how much I would love it. I truly, truly love the Thunderstorm fragrance. I love storms, and this really captured it perfectly. You get the ozone notes, the rain, the dirt, the grass – I don’t know how they managed to recreate it, but they nailed it! To me, it smells just like the rainstorm section of the Living with the Land attraction at Disney World and brought me instantly back to that vacation. I love it so much; I just wish it was bigger and had a longer burn time!

It says it is a “puppy’s breath” candle.Has an ok smell but does not smell like puppy’s breath.So disappointed!!

Light, floral scent
This candle has a very light floral scent. It doesnât smell like the actual herb, just flowery and pretty. It isnât overpowering at all. I like that it is soy-based and burns nicely.
