Works, but it is small and very agressive cuts.
This is a wire wheel with a 1 inch center hole to mount on a trimmer in place of a string cartridge, and uses the same mounting method as mounting a brush blade on the trimmer. One thing that is different is that you do not use the cup shaped ‘rider plate’ but only the thrust washer and collar nut when mounting this.When using this wire wheel, the first thing is that 6 inches in diameter is small when you are used to 10 or 12 inch diameter swings of the string or brush blade. But it does work and seems pretty strong when cutting and would cut through woody stemmed weeds and vines with ease. These would have eaten right through the normal trimmer string. But it is aggressive and will grind into any walls or surfaces you hit with it and i gouged a wooden fence post some with it. So you do have to be very careful using it. The wire can be sharp so a good idea to use gloves when installing it or taking it off.I did have a rusted sheet of steel, and yes it can brush the top layer of rust off. Not sure why the package shows the wheel on the front twice, there is only one wire wheel in the packageIt does cut but a bit small diameter to use for very large areas of grass but did very well trimming the honeysuckle vines off my fence. Seems well made and has its use but kind of specialty use for me.

Didn’t come with any hardware, but I only had to spend less than $2 to get what I needed. Quickly and easily attached to my trimmer and blew even my thickest weeds away!!
